Nitro Downloader

Downloading large files from the Internet without a specialized application is never a good idea. If your download is interrupted, you must start all over again. If you are looking for a fast and simple solution, you should try Nitro Downloader. If you compare it with other download managers, you will notice that it is much easier to use and that it still provides enough features to satisfy your needs. You just need to provide a download link and the application will do the rest.

Although Nitro Downloader is not free, its trial version can be used without any kind of restrictions. Unless you look in the About menu, you will not find any hints that you have to pay for the application. It works on all Windows platforms, from Win 95 to Win 8, and you can install it on your computer in a few seconds.

To start a new download, you must provide a download link, on a small window, after clicking the appropriate option, on the application's toolbar. Nitro Downloader includes a clipboard monitor, which is enabled by default. Thanks to the clipboard manager, it is sufficient to copy a download link while the application is running. The link is pasted automatically and you can choose to let the program start the download or do it manually.

Targeted files are listed on the main interface, along with a few statistics, like size, elapsed time, progress and others. If you decide to start a download manually, you must select the targeted file and click a Go button, on the program's toolbar. Alternatively, you can bring up the download's Properties window and set up a schedule. Besides inserting a link, naming the download and specifying a destination folder, you can also provide a username and a password, if you need to.

The software can be set to start and stop a download at specific times and dates. Furthermore, you may tick an option, on the same Properties window, to shut down the computer automatically, when the software finishes the last download. Nitro Downloader can also unpack ZIP archives. All you have to do is select a download, click the appropriate option and select a destination folder.
